A combination of high tides and strong Southerly winds means that there is a risk of coastal flooding of roads and properties.
Large and overtopping waves are expected and in places could cause hazardous and unpredictable conditions. The highest risk will be a few hours either side of the high tides on Saturday evening at around 9pm and on Sunday evening at around 9.30pm. Please note that the high water levels and waves are likely to be higher on Sunday evening than on Saturday evening.

A FLOOD WARNING update has been issued for Burray and Ayre of Cara.
Spring high tides, storm surge and strong westerly winds have combined to bring a risk of coastal flooding over several days this week. Low lying properties in Burray Village and at the Ayre of Cara are at risk of flooding.
Flooding is possible around the high tide times on Wednesday morning around 10.15 AM and again on Thursday morning around 11.00 AM. The overnight high tide on Wednesday night is slightly lower than the tides either side and so the highest risk of flooding is on the morning tides.
Although the Wednesday and Thursday morning tides are of similar size, with variable wind and wave conditions, the risk of flooding might not be the same at these two tide cycles and impacts could be expected at either.

A FLOOD WARNING update has been issued for Burray and Ayre of Cara.
Spring high tides, storm surge and strong westerly winds will combine to bring a risk of coastal flooding for the next few days. Low lying properties in Burray Village and at the Ayre of Cara are at risk of flooding.
Flooding is possible around the high tide times on Tuesday night around 10.00 pm and on Wednesday morning around 10.15 am.
Strong westerly winds are expected to continue throughout the next few days. There will be a possibility of flooding during any of the high tides from now until lunchtime on Thursday. Water levels could be higher on the high tides of Wednesday or Thursday, but with variable wind and wave conditions, flooding can be expected around any of the high tides until Thursday.
Warnings will be updated for future tidal cycles until the risk of flooding has passed.
